2' X 1'8" Acrylic On Canvas

"Grit & grief" is about a soul reflecting deeply and internally. The soul is as internal as external and the piece is set in earthen tones to depict the very earth we stem from.
The gold frill, flowers & buds scattered across are akin to the golden times & memories, planned or unplanned which lead to unexpectedly beautiful results and fond memories, which adds to the foray of what constitutes our happier self.
The blue frills symbolise the learnings that carve us. Quite often we mistake trials & tribulations as something bad, whilst it is those times when our resolute & resolve truly define who we are. The stoic eyes, marred in the blue colour is deeply reflective of the difficulties one has faced & continues to envision the new ones with poise, determination and fortitude.
The soul while internally reflecting sees the good, the bad, the ugly, the planned, the unplanned, the chartered & the unchartered aspects of its existence; which has in whole & part defined it or given it shape.
It is perfectly imperfect & imperfectly perfect.
